Wheels of Change Panel Discussion at the Natural History Museum of LA

On November 22nd, the National History Museum of Los Angeles put on an incredible event celebrating mobility justice and innovation called LA on Wheels Day.

The one-day festival brought the NHM online series L.A. on Wheels to life at the museum, showcasing how Angelenos have transformed movement into a celebration of creativity and community. There were car and bike shows, live skate demos, hands-on art activities, storytelling sessions, and discussions with mobility justice advocates, builders, and more.

Also during the day, our founder, Yolanda Davis-Overstreet, participated on a panel titled “Wheels of Change” discussing mobility justice after a screening of the Biking While Black Film. You can hear all of what Yolanda and her fellow panelists, Romel Pascual from CicLAvia, Clare Eberle from LA DOT, and moderator, Dr. Peter Sebastian Chesney had to say in this video.

Biking While Black also had a table at the festival. It was truly an amazing celebration in the middle of a very trying time in our country. It manifested the necessity of reclaiming our joy and utilizing that for our work.
